| OHCC LIVING | NOVEMBER 2024 | 5 The OHCC staff have been busy with making improvements throughout the community. If you get a chance, peek inside Abravanel Hall. We have changed all the lights to LED. The lights are now uniform in color, and they are far brighter than before. There is also a dimmer switch giving the residents the ability to adjust the brightness for various activities. Baker Electric has inspected all the emergency exit signs and were certified for the annual inspection and many lights were upgraded to provide improved visibility for residents. The pool lights have all been installed. They look beautiful and are 90 percent more efficient as well. We began the upgrades to the gate system on Oct. 14. We will be replacing the gate arms, upgrading the software system, and installing a license plate reader which will eliminate the need for transponders. This project should enhance the overall performance of the gate and service immensely. More to come on our upgrades and projects for 2024. For now, I will leave you with some maintenance tips for fall. As the vibrant colors of fall begin to grace our community, it is important to prepare our homes and surroundings for the cooler months ahead. Here are some essential maintenance tips to ensure our community remains safe and beautiful throughout the season: Gutter Cleaning: Falling leaves can quickly clog gutters, leading to water damage. Make sure to clean your gutters regularly to prevent blockages and ensure proper drainage. Lawn Care: Rake leaves and debris from your lawn to prevent mold growth and keep your grass healthy. Consider aerating your lawn to improve soil health and prepare it for winter. Exterior Inspections: Check your home's exterior for any signs of damage. Look for cracks in the foundation, loose shingles, or peeling paint. Addressing these issues now can prevent more significant problems later. Heating System Check: Before the cold weather sets in, have your heating system inspected and serviced. This ensures it operates efficiently and safely throughout the winter. Tree Trimming: Trim any overhanging branches that could pose a risk during winter storms. This helps prevent potential damage to your property and ensures the safety of our community. Outdoor Lighting: As the days get shorter, ensure your outdoor lighting is functioning correctly. Well-lit pathways and entrances enhance safety and security. By taking these proactive steps, we can all contribute to maintaining the beauty and safety of our community. If you have any questions or need assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to our management team. Wishing you all a wonderful and safe fall season!
