The month of September was a challenge for sure. The HOT weather was still with us but now that we are in fall we can put that behind us. We started our season with 24 teams and are off to a good start. We had our Welcome Back barbecue and a big shout out to all who helped make it a success the shoppers, setup, prepared and cooked. We couldn't have done it without all of you. Our mission is to have fun and maybe claim some bragging rights. Let's have a fun season and in the process make some new friends. If you would like to practice we do have a small group that plays on most Mondays and Fridays at 9 am. In the past we have taken off Fridays during our season. No one wanted to play two days in a row. You can always practice on your own just stop by the desk and they will set you up. REMINDER! Never walk on the courts after the beads have been applied. You could slip and fall. Happy Halloween! ~ Toni Harris, Chair (951) 325-8357 We have a few people interested in playing horseshoes. There is a horseshoe league that plays on Wednesday mornings at 8 am at different locations around Hemet. We practice Saturdays at 8 am. This fun and friendly club plays single and double formats every Wednesday morning at 8 am in summer, 9 am in winter, and twice a month in the evening at 5 pm. Normal play times are usually an hour or less. Come by and take a look on Wednesdays at the Plaza behind The Lodge. If you have any questions contact Beth Flanagan at bflana603@gmail.com, (858) 334-9779 or George Hice at gthice1@gmail.com, (858) 386-2020. Cornhole We have a line dance club that has been active in Four Seasons almost from the start. I have been participating in classes here for almost 18 years. It is great for both mind and body. In addition to getting older adults engaged in a healthy physical activity, line dancing is a perfect exercise for improving coordination and balance, increasing cardiovascular health and brain health. I recently read online that dancing is second only to walking as one of the best exercises for seniors. In my estimation, one of the best benefits of line dancing is the chance to enjoy the company of my fellow dancers and it's a great way to forget what is bothering you. We would like to invite all residents of Four Seasons to come join us. You need no prior experience. On Nov. 19, in the spirit of Thanksgiving, the club will host a Cookie Day. In addition to dancing, we will be baking cookies to bring to dance and share with everyone. We hope to see you there. Line Dance
