Happy Thanksgiving It is November, a time for ref lection as we wrap up our year and of looking forward to what is yet to come. We have had a great year, busy with so many fun activities sponsored by the Social Committee and the Clubs. We appreciate the many volunteers who make the magic happen. When I meet people and they ask what I do for a living, it is usually followed up with a "Oh that must be so FUN!" and it can be at times and other times a challenge. The absolutely hardest part of working in a community are the people, not in the obvious way (people can be difficult), but the loss of them. I have had the privilege to know and care for so many. We have laughed together, cried together, prayed together, planned together, struggled together, and celebrated together. These are the moments I keep in my heart. When I am faced with the loss of a community member, Four Seasons is so very fortunate to have Team Sunshine and the WIT Club. This morning I witnessed a new widow entering The Lodge and being gently embraced by a couple of ladies. What a beautifully hard moment. What a safe place to mourn your loved one — a place where you can be as busy as you may need to be for your own healing. November also brings a close to election season. I am thankful for those who have fought to preserve our rights. Our right to vote may seem futile to some, I know in times when the candidates I voted for win I feel relieved and that the system is on my side! We all like to win! The other times when my candidates do not come out ahead it can be worrisome. My faith in the system may waver a bit. These times can get so emotional. We all must remember to try and be kind to our neighbors. I wrote this in October, I may not know the outcome yet, but I know kindness wins every time. 4 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | NOVEMBER 2024 | From Your Activities Director By Tracie Rodgers FOUR SEASONS AT HEMET For more information, contact Royce Jerman at (951) 663-9289 or royce742@gmail.com Sat., Nov. 2, 10 am - 2 pm • The Lodge Ballroom FREE Admission General Public Welcome … Invite Your Friends & Family!
