As this message is being written, our temperature is over 100°F. Hopefully, as this is being read, our temperatures have moderated. In November, we "fall back" one hour, remember our veterans, and give thanks for all we have. It is heartwarming to see our American flag displayed on every street in our community. We thank the "Flag Angels" who set out the flags for all to see on holidays and special occasions. This month, we also thank all our volunteers who give their time and energy to make Four Seasons a great place to live. We, your Board of Directors, don't make decisions in a vacuum. We depend on You, our volunteers, in so many ways — provide recommendations, identify issues that need to be addressed, gather and evaluate information, and follow up to make sure things get done. For new residents, who may be reading this message for the first time: Welcome to our community. Consider volunteering — there are many options to choose from. You will find it rewarding and empowering as you contribute to our future success. We have a new committee! At the September Board Meeting, the formation of the Capital Improvements Committee was approved. The Committee Charter includes the following: Purpose: The Capital Improvements Committee (CIC) is to create, and update as necessary, a Community Capital Improvements Plan (CIP) to identify and address current and future capital improvement needs to help ensure community viability and improve resident enjoyment of the facilities and physical environment. The CIC may be used as a planning resource for evaluating new uses and repurposing existing facilities and common areas as residents' needs change. Objective: Utilize the CIP to make recommendations to the Board for significant new capital improvements. The CIP is to address new capital improvements only, not replacement or repair of existing facilities addressed by the Facilities Committee. The CIP is to serve as a community planning and budgetary tool, include project descriptions, detailed scopes of work, along with preliminary estimated costs. The CIP is to be continually updated and reviewed as directed by the Board. We look forward to working with the CIC in their efforts to improve the quality of life in our community. A trivia question: Who is/was our longest serving Board member? Answer: Tony Criscenti Tony joined the Board in 2008 and concluded his service to our community in April of this year. He served as President, Vice President, and Secretary while on the Board. Tony always put the needs of our residents first, and we thank him for all he did. He never had to raise his voice to make a point and has always been a true gentleman. He is a special person in our community.
