| THE COLONY NEWS | DECEMBER 2024 | 25 Colony Chorus By Ken Luekens The Chorus concerts are on Saturday, Dec. 7, at 7 pm and Sunday, Dec. 8, at 3 pm. If you do not yet have tickets, you can buy them from Katie in the HOA office until noon on Friday, Dec. 6. They are not available through the Colony Box Office. Checks only please, made out to The Colony Chorus. We also plan to have tickets available at the door, but remember that the spring concerts sold out. Seating will be cabaret style (at round tables) and unreserved, unless you wish to become a patron (see below). The theme for our Christmas concert is "A Celtic Christmas." It is surprising how many Christmas songs have Celtic roots, i.e., Celtic as in Irish, Scottish Gaelic and Welsh. If you would like a reserved seat, consider becoming a Colony Chorus Patron. It's not expensive, and we welcome your support. The Chorus truly appreciates our Patrons. Many have supported us for years. As a Patron, you'll enjoy the benefit of a reserved seat near the front. Get in touch with Dee March at 760-271-9002 or Julie Benningfield at 520-975-0224. We hope to see you on Saturday or Sunday, Dec.7 or Dec. 8. Keep singing! Did you know that your Wine Club membership is up at the end of this year? Did you also know that there is NO December event? So, that being said, make sure to get ready for next year's fabulous events by paying your dues at the next ticket sales opportunity. Our first event of 2025 is Wednesday, Jan. 15, and features Wiens Cellars. We will taste six wonderful wines and enjoy a delicious dinner catered by Gourmet Your Way. Tickets will go on sale for members only on Monday, Dec. 9, from 10 am to noon, and from 5 to 7 pm. If tickets are still available, member and guest tickets will be sold again on Monday, Dec. 16 from 10 am to noon. Ticket price is $35 for members, $40 for guests. November's event was dinner and dancing to Raincross Drive. This popular group, made up of three long-time Southern California friends, entertained us with our favorite songs from the '70s. "Trust me, you can dance…" said Wine. So, we did! Wine Club members are still talking about October's Old-Fashioned Southern Seafood Boil catered by Clambake Catering. Guests enjoyed good food, good wine, and dancing out on the patio to some good-ol' down home music by Ash Street Ramblers. It was a festive gathering celebrating the richness of the sea, a fabulous band, and the joy of being together. As we enter the wine-derful holidays, don't forget that the more wine, the merrier! It looks like the Holiday Forecast is 100% Chance of Wine. Oh, and a great gift to yourself or a friend is a Wine Club membership! If you are interested in joining, please give Sharon Evans a call at 951- 445-3861. Finally, from all the Wine Club Board Members, have a WINE- derfully delightful holiday season! Cheers! Wine Club By Valorie Hillerich Volunteers dished up a delicious Southern Seafood Boil catered by Clambake Catering Partying on the patio was the order of the night. Guests enjoyed good food, good wine, and good company.
