The December 2013 Board Message began: "Welcome to the first edition of our K Hovnanian's Four Seasons at Hemet news magazine, e Hemet Herald." We hope everyone enjoys our magazine and enjoys all of the information provided, including a calendar of activities, club and committee reports, future events, and great pictures. As we get ready for the holidays and busy days ahead, let us remember our loved ones, neighbors, and friends who are no longer with us. One big reason we are a great community is the people who live here. It's often said the best things in life are free, and at the top of the list is friendship. "I get by with a little help from my friends." The Beatles. We have a lot of activities to enjoy this month, including the Vintage Voices Concert, the golf cart parade, the charity holiday luncheon, the Classical Holiday Concert, and ending with another spectacular New Year's Eve celebration (Who wants to be a pirate?). Pick and choose what you want to do — there are only good choices. One of the nice traditions at holiday time in our community is the outpouring of giving by our residents. We thank you for donating gift cards, items of need, and your time to help others. As we get older, we know it is more important to give than to receive. One example is the support of our veterans who know better than anyone else the price of freedom. They served all of us and deserve our respect and thanks. Message from the Board of Directors 2 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | DECEMBER 2024 | Sincerely, and on behalf of your Board of Directors, Barbra Balser, Cliff Post, Roxy Snider, Fred Kydd, Mary Reyna, and Rick Adkins Jim Crase President We would like to acknowledge those who don't get a lot of attention, but play an important role in making Four Seasons the "Beverly Hills of Hemet." These are: • The Bistro - the people who prepare and serve the food. • Our management staff - who answer your questions, give information, do repairs, and schedule entertainment. • Our vendors - who maintain our buildings, take care of our landscape, provide security, and do repairs. The saying: "It takes a village," certainly is appropriate for our community — lots of people doing the "little" things that matter. This month we say goodbye to our General Manager, Rick Ruth. We have mixed feelings about this: We are sad to see him leave, but we're happy that he begins a well deserved retirement. Rick started with Euclid management in 1999 and became our GM in December, 2007. Over the past 17 years, he has been involved in many accomplishments, including the gazebo project, the storage building, the pool and Lodge solar installations, and the maintenance of our streets. His biggest challenge — how do you keep the residents of a 55+ adult active community content? One answer is his ability to listen, stay calm, and have a positive attitude. Your Board has learned that an effective GM must be good at multi-tasking and have knowledge of many subjects, such as the CC&Rs, all of our rules, regulations, and guidelines, each of our vendors, all committees, state and federal regulations, Roberts Rules, legal issues, etc. etc. This is why Rick is one big reason Four Seasons is such a desirable place to live and enjoy. We say: "Thank you, Rick!" At our Dec. 11 Board meeting, we invite you to greet Rick and wish him well. We wish you all a happy, safe, and stress free holiday, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and Happy New Year.
