It is an Integrated Cooperative Regional Fire Protection serving many cities. e City of Beaumont Fire Department provides Fire and Medical Aid Services. Assistant Chief for Station 66, Todd Hopkins, conducted the presentation. Here's a checklist for insuring home safety based on their guidelines and recommendations: Response Time: With access to various departments, Beaumont Fire has been able to average a lower than ve minute response to a call for help. 90 percent of calls are for medical aid and the remaining 10 percent are for re services. Address Sign & Light: Make sure your address sign and lights are easily seen at night. You want to insure the rst responders locating your residence quickly. Medical Information Keep a list on the refrigerator or another easily visible place that includes: • Known Allergies and Daily Medications • Emergency Contacts and Phone Numbers • A "Do not Resuscitate" (DNR) note if applicable Pets • Include a list of pets in the house for the rst responders Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detectors • Monthly testing using the test button on the detector • Battery replacement needs changing annually • Detector replacement every 7 – 10 years Fire Extinguishers and Fire Blankets • Placement: Keep at least two re extinguishers – 1 in the kitchen and one in the garage or laundry room • Additional Tool: Consider a re blanket, especially for kitchen use, to handle stovetop res Appliance Safety • Do not leave unattended: Avoid leaving kitchen and laundry room appliances such as ovens, stoves, or dryers running unattended. is also applies to space heaters.
