In keeping with the annual tradition, "Santa Lights" aims to get as many people as possible involved in the holiday festivities. Let's see your decorations, Sun Citians! Residents should decorate their homes at the beginning of December (or earlier). To enter the contest, call the office at 951-679-2311 (press zero) or send an email to activities@suncitycivic.com. Provide your name, address, and phone number by Dec. 16. We will then add you to the list for judging. Judging will be done by volunteers of Sun City Civic by Thurs., Dec. 18. If you are interested in being one of the four volunteer judges, please contact the office. First, second, and third places will be awarded. First place will win $200; second place will win $100; and third place will win $75. The winning homes will also receive a "winner" yard sign for all to see. Also, photos of the winners will be in the Core Courier. We are thankful to have our annual FREE "Ham & Fixins" dinner event, catered by Gracie's Lunchbox. There are only 250 meals available on a first-come, first-serve basis, so please hurry! It is limited to four dinners per household. However, there must be the same amount of residents in the home on file. For example, if you live alone and we only have you on record as residing in the home, then you will only receive one dinner, not four. We are also seeking volunteers to assist with the dinner deliveries. Picking up the meals and taking them to their happy recipients will take about an hour or two, with "contactless" delivery on the morning of Dec. 16.
