| SUN CITY CORE COURIER | DECEMBER 2024 | 3 As I've said before, my deadline to submit articles for the magazine is the 20th of the month for two months ahead. As of this writing, it is Oct. 18, and I'm writing this article for the December magazine, which makes it awkward. I know some in the Association will agree that I don't know what I'm doing when it comes to looking this far ahead, and I admit that I don't. Here it goes: Merry Christmas, everybody! We have a lot to be thankful for — the Association is doing very well. I talked to people that come from very high-end HOAs, from Laguna to Temecula and beyond, and they are astounded as to what we have here, and I think you all are, too. All the clubs are doing very well. Horseshoes is open once again. I had some ladies call me to ask that I remind all the ladies in the Association that the billiard hall, with nine professional tables, is open to just ladies on Wednesdays, from 10 am to 12 pm. Although they can go in at any time, this is just a dedicated time for ladies. All the other clubs want more and more participants too, so look in the magazine to find out when they meet and come to explore. There is a lot going on here, such as woodshop classes, lapidary, art rooms, ceramics and, of course, horseshoes etc. And, you can't forget the pools, which are open year-round as is the spa and gym, so have a good time. Our association is doing very well thanks to our management team. Norma, our General Manager, is leading us in all the future laws and applications. Thank goodness that we can do what we can do. Reminder to everybody: we again have 250 dinners to give out at Christmas. If you are going to sign up, make sure that you are someone who cannot go out and get a meal, as this year we can only do 250 dinners. Also, if you sign up for dinner delivery, you cannot sign up for the sit-down dinner. I know I mentioned it in the previous article, and we are adhering to this. The sit-down dinner and dance are on Dec. 7 and is limited to 150 people. For the Christmas Decorating Contest, we need four volunteers to help vote. We need four so that we all fit snuggly in an SUV to drive around. If you are interested in signing up for the contest, check out the article in this Courier. Last, but not least, I did not mention it in my last article, and it is forever on my mind. There is absolutely no news from or about the golf course. They will soon be having to cut everything as soon as it rains and grows, which is their business, not ours. Everything is in the works as far as lawyers go. We are just waiting for them to contact us as to where/when they want to have the special election to change the CC&Rs and deed restrictions. Again, no news is good news. I hope everybody has a great Christmas and is looking forward to the New Year! Message from the President By Brian Holley, President of Sun City Civic Association
