Holiday greetings to all. There is so much to keep track of this month, get those calendars out and let us celebrate this wonderful time of year. Most of the Clubhouse activity finishes about Dec. 20, celebrating Christmas and Hanukah on the 25th of December. The Clubhouse will be closed at 5 pm on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The New Year's Eve Party on the 31st will be held at an earlier time than in the past. The Clubhouse will close at 5 pm on Dec. 31 and the partying will begin. The Choral Society Concert will get everyone in the mood for the holiday season. Mark that calendar for Sun., Dec. 8. This club keeps expanding under the direction of Bev Taylor. They keep asking for additional risers to hold the choir members. In the past months, a carriage was added to the baby grand that resides in the Music Room, so the instrument can be used on the floor of Abravanel Hall. Yes, things do change, and innovative ideas bring new experiences. The flyer for the Holiday Golf Cart Parade is found within. On the evening of the 16th the parade will light up the streets of OHCC. We will be taking sign-ups for golf cart participants at the front desk. The Community Patrol Service provides the necessary safety, so that the carts can transition across the streets. Put on that SoCal weather gear because surprisingly it gets a bit nippy out there. We will need spectators, so gather family and friends on the driveway, with a hot toddy in hand, and celebrate the most magical time of year. Items of a business nature include the following: • Golf Bag 2025 tags are available at the front desk at no charge. The tags are required for residents to display while on the Course. Guests must be with a resident. • Shuttle reservations must be made by 3 pm the day before. A signed waiver is required to ride the shuttle. No add-ons will be allowed on the day of the outing. • A waiver must be signed to use the Fitness Center. Only residents can use the equipment. A caregiver or a personal trainer can assist the resident. • Only service animals are allowed to be in the Clubhouse and on the recreational grounds. Please walk dogs along Leisure Village Way. • With daylight saving time ending, please wear a reflective vest, carry a flashlight, to make vehicles aware when walking in the dark, vests can be purchased at the front desk. Reservations for 2025 have gone quite smoothly with Julie Van Dam and Lisa Wise working diligently to get confirmations emailed to all of those who submitted their required paperwork. Do Dues Day will be on Sat., Jan. 11 at 10 am, and this will give clubs the opportunity to gain new members. Plan to bring a checkbook! This year brought us an OHCC 40th year celebration, like no other. A new Lanai was erected, the Casa was renovated, and memories were created. We wish you all a bright and joyous holiday season. Our thanks for all the acts of kindness, support, and the words of encouragement. Thank you for the cards, the delicious treats, and the gifts we have received. We are looking forward to celebrating another fun-filled year in the Clubhouse with all of you. Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and a Happy & Healthy New Year!
