30 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | DECEMBER 2024 Finance Committee As the year comes to an end, I would like to thank my committee for all their hard work in preparing our budget for 2025. Many hours are spent in meetings and preparing reports and I appreciate the time they give to this community. During the Finance Committee's regular monthly meeting, the financial statements for September 2024 were reviewed and recommended for Board approval. In addition, the committee reviewed expenditure proposals for various recommended projects in the community. We also reviewed investment recommendations to move maturing investments to higher-yield FDIC-insured instruments. Highlights of the August financial statements are: Total Cash is $13,727,585 including operating cash of $2,193,451 (checking and CDs) and reserve assets of $11,090,625, and reconstruction assets of $443,509. Our total year-to-date current income is $103,257. Homeowners are welcome to join us at the Finance Committee's regularly scheduled monthly meetings held on the last Tuesday of each month. Our next meeting will be Tuesday, Dec. 31 at 1 pm. The Finance Committee reviews and discusses many issues that you may have questions about. Residents are welcome to attend one of our meetings to become more familiar with our finances. At the beginning of each meeting, we allow three minutes per homeowner not to exceed 30 minutes in total for comments. Our meetings are held in the RCN Conference Room. If you have any questions or concerns, contact Jolene Cooley joleneaudit@gmail.com. ~ Jolene Cooley Forty-two dogs and their parents attended our First Dog Halloween Costume Parade! The costumes ranged from simple bandannas to elaborate outfits including hats, wigs and toy riders. All dogs were happy to be out walking around and socializing with other dogs and people. The dogs were put in groups by weight; small dogs 20 pounds and under, medium dogs 21-50 pounds, and large dogs over 51 pounds. The dogs were led past the judges in a single line for each group. Three lucky dogs were chosen as winners by our judges. Each winner received a $50 PetSmart gift card, a certificate and a cloth pumpkin. The small dog winner was Cooper, owned by Patti and Gary Pitts. The medium dog winner was Mia, owned by Leslie Van Dyke. The large dog winner was Cleo and Sophia owned by Lisa Skellange. Second and third place winners each received a certificate. We want to thank all the owners for participating and making this a happy, fun event. A big thank you to our Activities Director, Cindy Graves, for suggesting this event and supplying the gift cards. Thank you to her hard-working associate, Luke Shelton, for helping with the set up, and acting as our MC. He did a fantastic job! Thank you to our judges: Dimitra Nicastro, Karen Belcher, and Karen Evans from the Tails & Trails Club. Thank you to Eric Zarr, who was our photographer. The Canine Corral has been repaired from the rain damage last spring and looks better than ever. New DG has been added and compacted. Several of our new members are going down almost daily to train their dog in a safe fenced in area. The Corral is open during daylight hours for members to use to exercise their dogs. Play dates can be arranged at your convenience. We regularly meet on Saturday mornings at 8 am for an hour of group play. Not only do our dogs make friends at the Corral, but we do as well. Membership in the Canine Corral is $40 for the first year and $30 per year after that. All dogs must be current on all shots and be spayed or neutered. Membership forms are available in The Lodge. Our dogs give us unlimited love and companionship. Please join and see how happy your dog is running and playing with other dogs off leash in a safe fenced area. 2024 is quickly drawing to a close. We live in a lovely, special community, with friends close by and activities galore. I, for one, am very grateful to be here.
