14 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | DECEMBER 2024 By Kirk Freyermuth Héctor Méndez, a passionate and skilled landscape supervisor, is the leader of the 25 Park West employees who are responsible for the maintenance of the stunning grounds of the prestigious Four Seasons at Beaumont. Hector joined Park West six years ago after working for another landscape firm. With years of expertise in landscaping and horticulture, Héctor is responsible for overseeing the community's outdoor spaces and green areas, ensuring they not only reflect the elegance and luxury of the Four Seasons brand but also contribute to the environmental sustainability of the property. At Four Seasons, Héctor's role is multifaceted. He oversees the maintenance and care of lawns, gardens, and seasonal plantings, as well as managing the community's irrigation systems and ensuring the proper upkeep of hardscaping. In addition to his role of supervisor at Four Seasons, he directs the crews at Four Seasons Palm Springs and Solera. As part of his dedication to excellence, Héctor emphasizes sustainability in landscaping practices at Four Seasons. From water conservation techniques, such as smart irrigation systems, to the selection of native and drought-tolerant plant species, Héctor ensures that the community's outdoor spaces are not only aesthetically pleasing but also environmentally responsible. Hector has worked closely with the Landscape Committee to create green spaces that promote biodiversity, such as bee-friendly gardens and areas that encourage bird life, further enriching the experience for visitors and contributing to the region's environmental health. Hector leads an active life both on the job and at home. He walks up to 20 miles during a typical weekend. He works side by side with his crew dealing with problems such as irrigation failure and the different soil conditions here at Four Seasons. He has also played an important role in the installation of smart controllers that will reduce our water usage. In the years to come, Héctor's vision for the community's outdoor spaces will undoubtedly continue to evolve, but his dedication to excellence, sustainability, and creating an exceptional guest experience will remain unwavering.
