FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | DECEMBER 2024 53
The main photo opportunity our membership enjoys is travel
photography. Travel can be to a far f lung place or a trip to a nearby
city or national park. Travel photography was our meeting topic in
November. How to decide what gear to take. How to capture more
than a "Kodak" moment. We also discussed composition and how
to make our images visually stronger and more interesting.
The November outing was the Veteran's Car Show. The shine
and polish of the cars and the many shapes and details make for
wonderful abstract images. After shooting, we met for lunch at the
Bistro.
We meet on the first Thursday of each month from 6:30 to 8:30 pm
in the RCN Main Room. Each meeting includes a main topic, review
of photos, and general discussion about photography. Photographers
of all skill levels are welcome. If you use a cell phone, please join us.
Many photo and editing techniques can be incorporated into cell
phone photography.

As it so happens with many projects, the paperwork
is the biggest hurdle. We finally have all the contractual
"T"s crossed and "I"s dotted. However, Mother Nature and
holidays have booted the construction into 2025. Our new
plan is to dedicate the Tiles on Armed Forces Day, May 17,
2025. Purchase of tiles is now extended to March 15, 2025.
The trails in Veterans Park were recently coated with
slurry, a mix of cement and gravel. This should make them
safer to use and all weather. Also, the Service Trees are now
marked with f lags since irrigation spray damaged the paint
on the metal signs.
There will be a Veterans EXPO on Jan. 25, 2025, at the
Chatigny Sr. Recreation Center, 1310 Oak Valley Parkway in
Beaumont. This is a good opportunity to verify your veteran
benefits. Bring your DD214 to show the Veterans Councilors.
The Veterans Club will not meet in December due to
holidays. Our next meeting is Jan. 23 at 10 am in the Game
Room. ~ Len Tavernetti, ltavernetti@hotmail.com
