FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | DECEMBER 2024 55
Quilting Enthusiasts
Merry Christmas and a very happy upcoming 2025! This year
has come and gone, faster than any year that I can remember.
First of all I would like to say a huge thank you to the editors of
the Breeze for the beautiful two-page layout in the November issue
of the Breeze, highlighting the Third Quilting Enthusiasts Quilt
Show. Our members worked hard to bring you this show, and we
had a great turn out. Featured were memory quilts such as t-shirt
quilts, Aloha Shirts (a beautiful two-sided quilt), and another
interesting memory quilt made from hand-knitted sweaters! In
addition to the memory quilts, there was an interactive display
area showing the steps involved in creating a quilt, as well as an
explanation of something called "English Paper Piecing," made
with little hexagons, all done by hand. One of my favorites was the
Western one that was all hand quilted and hand appliquéd. I met
the maker and she said it took her four years to create the quilt for
her granddaughter. Absolutely stunning! As a group of women we
are throughly blessed by the creative hands, talents, and visions
that each one of them have.
In closing, we continue to meet on the second Thursday of each
month in Arts & Crafts Room #2 and we welcome anyone and
everyone who want to learn and share.

Crafty Cardmakers
The Crafty Cardmakers meet on
the second and fourth Friday of the
month. We make three all-occasion
cards and you only need to bring your
own glue and scissors. The cost is $10
to cover materials. Your cards include
envelopes and will be ready to mail.
We have a wonderful group of
participants and would love to have
you at our next class. If you would like
to be part of the group, call or email
me with your name, phone number,
and email address, and I will add your
name to our monthly email list.
If you plan to come to class, please
RSVP by the Tuesday before the class,
so I will have enough kits for everyone.
