The holidays are upon us! Time to get busy. Our crafty group got into the spirit in November, painting and blinging nutcrackers of varied sizes. There were no rules. We each purchased a nutcracker or two and began painting, gluing, and embellishing like crazy. Such imagination! We even had a female nutcracker materialize! Our (mostly) finished products are shown at right. When we aren't working on our monthly Make 'n Take projects, we normally work on photo albums or cards, or other related paper projects. Sorting through photos is always time consuming and on the boring side, unless you're working alongside friends to distract you. We offer support and new ideas about how to do layouts on our pages, along with sharing our supplies with each other. It seems like someone is always coming up with a new project or idea we might consider tackling in the future. We meet weekly on Mondays from 1 to 3 pm in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room with one exception. The second Monday of each month our time changes to 11 am to 1 pm. Same location. This month, we meet on five Mondays: Dec. 2, 16, 23, and 30 from 1 to 3 pm, Dec. 9 will be from 11 am to 1 pm. The second Thursday of every month is our day to celebrate birthdays that month with a lunch, usually held at the Clubhouse. Our luncheon will be on Thurs., Dec. 12 at 11:30 am. We are all looking forward to our annual holiday dinner party on Wed., Dec. 4 at 5 pm in the Sandwedge. It is always a fun time, totally planned by volunteers from our group. I can't wait to see what they've got in store for us! Come visit us during one of our meetings. We welcome questions about our group. Paper Crafting 28 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | DECEMBER 2024 | Fiber Artists The Fiber Arts group meets every Monday at 12:30 pm except on the third Monday of the month when we meet at 11:30 am in the North Clubhouse. On the second Monday of the month, we share our leftover yarns and tools and on the last Monday of the month, we have a potluck lunch, but this month, the gift exchange and lunch will be on Dec. 16 at 12:30 pm.
