| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | DECEMBER 2024 | 31 Reminder for those who have already signed up and paid, our December event is Dec. 7 and will feature one of our favorites: Generations! For our November gathering, we had our first Thanksgiving dinner this season, catered by Thomas catering. Our entertainment was the beautiful Renee Rojanaro. Her voice is soft and sweet, her music selection was stellar and her humorous interaction with the Club endeared her to all. She is so much more than a singer, she is a full- on entertainer and truly fun to watch. This is the first time Renee performed for our club and she was a huge hit with all. Some of her songs performed were Black Velvet, Can't Help Falling In Love With You, and God Bless e USA bringing people to their feet as well as singing along. The 80s Club is for our Sun Lakes residents near or over 80 years of age along with their guests, no matter their ages. Our events are always on the first Saturday of the month and begin at 3 pm, and include a brief meeting with announcements, then entertainment and the meals begin between 3:30 and 4 pm. Each month is very close to the capacity at the South Clubhouse so it makes for a very festive and interacting group. Come join us once for the meal price of $20 to see if you might enjoy our group and only if you do, do you need to join for the second time you attend. Our dues are $10 a year per person. Our meals are $20 per person . Get your checks to Donna Harrington at 5393 Riviera for our January event reservations before Dec. 28. We will be featuring Jamestown, our own Larry and Sheila James! If the event sells out, the box will be removed and an event closed note will be there. If you are mailing in your check, we must have it in by the deadline date and make sure your phone number is on the check. Also, please give us the name of any guests you are paying for and bringing. We're always at the South Clubhouse; people begin arriving at 2:30 to get checked in and get their seats, and the program starts at 3 pm. I know people like to arrive early and I truly hate to leave them waiting in the hallway but it is difficult for the volunteers to do their set up and decorations while attendees are sitting at the tables. Therefore, we will be unable to allow any entrance before 2:30 pm. Please make your checks out to 80s Plus Club. Don't forget your money for the 50/50 which was a huge success last month.
