But Only God Can Make A Tree*
Trees are very important here in Ocean Hills, as with most
of the Earth. They provide beauty for our surroundings. More
importantly they clean our air, by replacing the carbon expelled by
gas cars and fireplaces, etc., with clean, healthy oxygen. Ours is a
symbiotic relationship; they help us, and we need to help them so
that they can continue to help us.
There are more than 2,500 trees in our Master Board areas (all
OHCC landscaping, excepting your front and back yards). These
trees are inspected yearly by an arborist, Mr. Ron Matranga, of The
Atlas Tree Company. The arborist visits each tree to ascertain the
health and/or needs of said tree. Sometimes trees may be infected
with beetles which need to be treated immediately, before they
migrate to other trees and cause mass degradation of the whole
grove. Sometimes a tree might just need a little pruning. Sometimes
trees just die for an unknown reason and have to be removed.
After the arborist makes his report, employees from a second
company, Bright View, will come in and correct problems as
noted in the arborist's notes. Atlas Trees will then return to verify
completion of the required work. This is one of the reasons why
our trees always look so healthy and beautiful; and we can breathe
deeply.
