Happy New Year 2025 to all! The holidays flew by, and the Choral Concert was just what we all needed to get us in the mood. It was such a great production under the direction of resident Beverly Taylor at the helm, piano accompaniment by Michael Munson, whimsical Joe Ashby on the Mic, Keith Thompson on drums, including over 60 choir members on risers. Recognizing our resolute AV Crew, they jumped into their positions checking the acoustics and filming throughout the production. What a way to bring in the spirit of the holiday, not to mention they sang to a packed room with an audience of five hundred. Thanks again to each choir member that put the time in to learn the exceedingly difficult arrangements. The "Hava Nagila" rendition, featuring Havey Bernstein and Donnalee Singer, brought a sense of celebration. The grand finale of "Hallelujah Chorus" was the crème de la crème and the perfect ending to an outstanding performance. Thank you to all our performers! The annual Do Dues Day is happening in the Clubhouse on Sat., Jan. 11, at 10 am. Individual clubs will host their own booth display, like a health fair. Residents can sign up for clubs of their choice. The dues for each club will be listed and copies can be obtained at the front desk. A hot dog lunch will be made available for a cost. Bring a checkbook for memberships. If not available on that day, checks can be submitted at any time to the front desk. Be sure all checks submitted have a current address and phone number. This is key for the club officers to be able to reach a new resident. It is the one day that residents say they can see many of their neighbors, so come by and say "Hi!" Golf bag tags are here for 2025. There is no charge for the tag. The tag is lilac in color and only residents need to register to obtain the bag tag. Rules are posted on the back of the tag, where a signature is required, agreeing to abide to the golf course rules and regulations. Start time is 7:50 am. A new art class is being formed, and we are looking for beginning to advanced students. Several residents have offered their expertise over the years, but we have had requests to provide a class that teaches fundamentals. The time has been set for Wednesdays at 1 pm. The instructor, Laurie Sheahan, is well versed in drawing, acrylic painting, and mixed media. She is also considering an open session where projects can be reviewed and completed. If interested, please inform the front desk. So much is behind us, but we have so much to look forward to! This community offers so much to create a balanced leisure lifestyle, what some have described as "Fantasy Island." The golfers are now enjoying breakfast sandwiches in the morning, friends watching the football highlights together on the 100-inch Lanai TV and playing oldies but goodies with "Just for Fun," every week in the Clubhouse, what a wonderful life to live! We look forward to 2025 and the hope that comes with this new year. Every moment is precious — so embrace it! "You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream." C.S.
