| OHCC LIVING | JANUARY 2025 | 41 Racquet Club This is the perfect time to thank all 549 of our members for belonging in the Racquet Club. We encouraged you to join us "Just for The Fun of It"… and you did. By joining this amazing group of residents, you now belong to something special. We don't just hit things over nets and forget the scores. We make new friends and find fun ways to be healthy and mentally fit. It is our interaction with other members that is the real benefit of the Racquet Club. Soon we will be releasing our 2025 calendar. Along with dozens of social events, we'll be putting an emphasis on volunteering. A new online tool will be released in January illustrating the many ways to get involved. Volunteering is probably the best way for us to stay mentally sharp. Working on a project with friends is one of the smartest ways to stay socially connected. You don't need to be an athlete to join our club. So, join us, just for the fun of it, as we find engaging ways to be healthier in 2025. You'll belong in the Racquet Club. Do Dues Day is coming up Sat., Jan. 13. Stop by and say hi – then renew or join! Dues are $15, payable electronically or by check to OH Racquet Club. Bob James was re-elected president at the November general meeting, as were incumbents Harvey Bernstein, John Gildner, Robert Kelly, Ann Rike, Donna Ryan and Sid Saltzman. Felicity Swerdlow will again serve as an appointed director in 2025. After experimenting during 2024, the Club will lay out a more robust array of pickleball classes for members during 2025. The Racquet Club's Help Desk will have all the details. Free beginner classes for interested OHCC residents commence January 7th. A second tier of free classes to be offered periodically by Herb Livsey and staff is aimed at novice players. Herb will continue Team Camp, a popular multi-lesson series for intermediate players designed to hone their skills and strategies when playing with a partner. The Pro Series brings in certified pickleball coaches offering a variety of fee-based single or multi-sessions for intermediate and advanced players, don't miss out!
