There was nothing 'late' about these Bloomers last year! We ended our year in grand style with plenty to do and lots of fond memories. Our November potluck was attended by 28 members and there was no shortage of food, garden delights and festive spirits! Pictured above, left, are Ellyn Wolfe, Sue Watt, Editha Wilkerson and Sherry Thompson. On Dec. 1, our trek over to The Garden Club in Oasis, Menifee did not disappoint either. The eight beautifully decorated homes were a sight to behold. Pictured above, center, is a very festive upside- down tree! Followed by a wonderful dinner, complete with spirits, dancing, and a silent auction not to be taken lightly. Difficult to reel in this crowd, it's unanimous, we will be adding this annual event to our calendar next year. Dec. 8 turned out to be a wonderful surprise for six of us who had never before attended the Feast of Lights at the University of Redlands. Held in the Memorial Chapel, the performers were all students, and 2024 marked the 77th year for this tremendously moving performance of the Nativity Story. Coupled with a complete orchestra and choir, it truly was a feast for all the senses! One could not help feeling transported to Bethlehem 2,000+ years ago. The photo above, right, is but a glimpse of the magnitude of this remarkable and moving event. If you've never been, I strongly encourage you to make this tradition part of your holiday festivities next year. Late Bloomers will kick off the New Year with our own favorite tradition, getting back together in a member's home! We all love this familiar gathering of friends, sharing gardening tips and planning excursions. Starting us off on Mon., Jan 13 at 1 pm we will meet in the home/garden of Sue Watt located at 8214 Maruyama Dr. in the Championships. We always meet the second Monday of every month either in a member's home or in the Arts & Crafts Room at 1 pm. All residents are welcome!
