From the Rules Chair, Bill Swinney: Did you know? You must tee the ball up behind the line created by the tee markers. You can tee it up anywhere between the two markers and you can tee it up as far back as the length of two drivers. If your driver is 45 inches, you can tee it up to 90 inches behind the imaginary line. Never in front of the tee markers. It's a good idea to get into the habit of teeing it up a foot behind the line to avoid accidentally receiving a 2-stroke penalty. From the "Just When I thought that Golf Was Getting Easy," Mike McLaughlin: Last month I highlighted some of our best players. Two of those individuals, Javier Parada and Bill Swinney, won our Club's Players Tournament for best gross and best net scores respectively. ey then represented our club at the SCGA Players Cup Tournament at Desert Falls and Palm Desert. Although they did not advance to the next round (only one representative from our Club has ever advanced), they played well and were very competitive. Closer to home, Susan Gaites shot a net 66 (95-29) at the Nov. 19 game. Another outstanding performance was the 59-score turned in by Meredith Becker and Roxy Snider on Dec. 3 as part of a "Partners Best Net Score per Hole." Submitted by Mike McLaughlin, Club Secretary Bill Swinney and Javier Parada, Player Cup winners
