8 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | JANUARY 2025 | Library Committee Happy New Year 2025 from your volunteer Four Seasons Library Committee! We hope you had a wonderful holiday season and are already back to regular library visits to see all the recent donations typically received during this time. Perhaps YOU were one of our generous residents who donated some of your well-read and loved "older" (but still dated 2015 and newer) favorites to make room on your shelves for all the brand-new books you received over the holidays. e Library Committee is trying out two new book categories in the bookcases behind the couch to see if there is enough interest in regularly stocking them. I will keep you posted about the success of these two experiments. anks to a donation from a Four Seasons resident, the rst new category is comprised of popular books published in Spanish. ere are Spanish-speaking residents here. is gives them the opportunity to read books they don't have to translate. Also, one resident commented to me that although English speaking, she reads Spanish; this gives her the chance to practice her Spanish reading skills. ere is no currently established date range for these books. We're watching to see if they circulate and if any more Spanish books are donated. Share your thoughts with us in the library's Suggestion Box. New York Times #1 Bestseller books are the other new category — not just the authors, but these specic books as noted on the covers. A committee member has found that books with this highly respected designation are always great reads for her. e New York Times Bestsellers List has been a great guide to great reading for many years. ere is a broader date range right now for these paperbacks which allows the inclusion of some slightly older books. Note that both new categories of books are all paperbacks for now. Consider trying them and tell us what you think with a note in the library's Suggestion Box. e socover (paperback) collection of Nonction and Biographies on the right revolving cabinet is growing slowly. e number of puzzles in the computer room has also grown recently with another cabinet added. Seasonal and holiday puzzles have been popular and will change, as necessary. anks for remembering to only donate complete puzzles. Keep bringing in current magazines. As you can see, your library is growing and thriving, thanks to YOU! Come visit soon. ~ Betty Crase
