Creative Writers
NOTE: There have been changes to the Creative Writers Club
meetings in 2025. They are noted in ALL CAPS in the following two
sentences. We will meet each month on the first TUESDAY from 1 to
3 pm in addition to the third Thursday from 3:30 to 5:30 pm. ALL
MEETINGS will be in the Main Clubhouse MULTIPURPOSE ROOM.

Are you now, or do you aspire to be, a creative writer? Please feel
free to drop by for a meeting and discuss your writing interests, your
experience, your plans, areas of growth, and any publishing you have
done.
The Tuesday meetings will be run by our leader, Thomas May.
Contributions may range from fiction (novels or short stories),
nonfiction prose (essays or autobiographies), or poetry. Discussions
of publishing experience or writing plans are also welcome. There
is no pressure for one to come prepared with written material for a
meeting, but we love it when people read from their writings.
The Thursday meetings are jointly led by Tom May and Rick
McHard, who may be reached at (909) 706-0919 or rmchard@cs.ucr.
edu. The discussion topics noted above are also appropriate for
the Thursday meetings. Additionally, the Thursday meetings have
traditionally included literature within the setting of other media
such as songs or plays. Anything that involves creative writing is
welcome.
Our Creative Writers Club has several experienced writers in many
forms of literature. Come join us at Creative Writers Club meetings
to share your ideas in a friendly setting, and listen to the writings and
opinions of others. You will find this very stimulating.
