Games People Play Mondays are considered "fun days" by the members of our group. You are invited to join in for the games, music and the camaraderie between new and old friends. We have five games that are played simultaneously: you have a choice of Scrabble, Phase 10, Chess, Bid Whist or Dominoes. All skill levels are welcome. There are no fees or dues; however, donations are welcomed and appreciated. We meet Mondays at the North Clubhouse from 6 to 9:30 pm. All Sun Lakes residents are welcome to practice with us Mondays through Saturdays. We normally draw for partners at noon, then play to around 2 pm. There is no cost to join our group. However, if you elect to join a team, there is a $15 competition fee per three-month season. Eight teams compete every Thursday; four at 9 am and the other four at 1 pm in our Main Clubhouse Billiards Room. For a fun afternoon of friendly competition, come watch us play. This month, we will skip New Year's day and then meet on the next four Wednesdays, all in the Main Clubhouse as follows: Jan. 8, 15 and 29 in the Bus Room; Jan. 22 in the Multipurpose Room. Please arrive between 12:45 and 12:50 pm so we can organize tables for balanced play. Ideally we would like to have only five to six people at a table. The group is getting bigger, so if you have domino trays consider bringing them. We play double deck pinochle in groups of four and five. Partners change after each game so you will get a chance to socialize with many members each day. We are flexible with our members' schedules and will add you to the next game after you arrive; if you can only stay for a game or two, it is not a problem.
