10 SOLERA DIAMOND VALLEY | FEBRUARY 2025 By Clare Mendez, Resident Ping Pong is similar to tennis or pickle ball but is played indoors with less chance of injury. Plus, you can play it in the Lodge no matter what the weather is. If the Ballroom is not being used, ask if you can use the tables and equipment (supplied) to get your game on. It does require a minimum of two players so you'll have to ask a friend to join you or attend the other Ping Pong players on Monday, Wednesday, or Saturday at 2 in the aernoon. e tempo of the game can be fast, but is easily slowed down so you can build condence and skill. e key is to keep constant attention on the ball and the trajectory once it's hit to you. Ping Pong is just another way to keep active during the winter chill. Ping Pong By Janet Boyce, Resident e rst time I went to Sedona, it was for a three-day stay at a health spa, to improve my trigger-point, upper back muscles. I was mesmerized by the beauty of the red rock formations! It was like viewing the Grand Canyon inside out. In other words, the rock formations were above instead of viewing them below in a canyon. Both places are in northern Arizona, so the landscape is similar. Sedona is known for its vortexes. ese are swirling centers of energy that are conducive to healing, meditation, and self-exploration. Sedona feels like one of those places on Earth that is especially alive with energy. Aer you are there for a while, you can begin to feel inspired, recharged, and uplied. It's like being in a cathedral without walls! e next two times I went, I stayed for a week, so I could hike some of the many trails, and see all the wonderful art galleries and shops. Many artists live in Sedona. I love handmade art, as opposed to anything machine-made. ere is no comparison, due to the quality. e most well-known, red rock formations are Cathedral Rock, Bell Rock, Coee Pot Rock, and Courthouse Butte. e Chapel of the Holy Cross is a church set high on a hill for incredible views. It's a major tourist attraction. I almost moved to Sedona because the location aected me that much, but then I realized I would be too far away from my family. Family is everything to me, so I just look forward to the times I will visit Sedona again. I hope you may go, and experience the beauty and magic of Sedona, Arizona. Postscript: e photo is of Cathedral Rock that I purchased at the main museum/art gallery. I display it on my wall for daily inspiration and enjoyment. Magical Sedona
