| SUN CITY CORE COURIER | FEBRUARY 2025 | 11 Travel Club At last month's meeting, members shared ideas on possible day trips and multi-day trips and completed a "Travel Survey" so the Board could review the results and hopefully schedule some of the trips they mentioned. President Suzie Hunt re-introduced the Club's 2025 Board of Directors & Officers: President, Suzie Hunt; First VP, Mary Jan Williams; Second VP, Ope; Secretary, Nancy Doss; Treasurer, Debbie Gabel; Assistant Second VPs,: Georgia Lyles and Barbara Marlow; Membership, Catherine Dickerson; Trip Sheet Subscriptions/Distributions, Diane Sims; Trip Escorts: Mike Harrison, Becky Mobley, Bruce Flowers, Barbara Nunnally, Marie Banker, Carrie Olson, Nellie Parks, Eileen Johnson, and Gloria Arizmendez; Social Committee Members: Refreshments, Betty Dennis; Social Secretary, Robin Savage; Historian/Photographer: Patty Feeney; Trip Sheet Editor, Mary Emory. That's 21 volunteers so far! We still need a volunteer(s) to plan our day trips. We usually do two-to-three-day trips per month, and one of those is always to a casino. If you would like to volunteer for this position or if you'd like to volunteer along with someone else to plan the day trips, call President Suzie Hunt (951-301-5474; landline only - no texts). She will explain what is involved in taking on the 2nd VP position. Our membership drive continues a few more months. The first 120 members receive a club tote bag. Dues are $20/year (Jan.-Dec.) and include at least two free parties. Sign up at our meetings. For more information, call Catherine at 562-612-5220. Next meeting: Wed., Feb. 5 at 12:45 pm (doors open 12:15 pm for sign-ins, free door prize tickets, refreshments, membership sign-ups, etc.), in North Town Hall. The theme is Valentine's Day (or, as I call it, Chocolate Day!). Attendees are encouraged to bring their favorite chocolate dessert, candies, cookies, etc. to put on our refreshment table. It's truly a "chocolate heaven" at our February meeting! (Note: if you bring something that is not "finger-food," please cut it up and bring serving utensils). Will Reese with AFC Tours will have a travel presentation. Trip sign-ups and payments will be taken after the meeting. SCCA seniors are invited to come to our meetings and go on our trips. You do not have to travel to come have a good time with us! (Bring your own beverage to meetings – no alcohol though!) For those of you who are new: we give out door prize tickets during sign-ins until 12:45 pm. After that time, you're welcome at the meeting, but the door prize ticket table is closed. Current Day Trips & Multi-day Tours – Be sure to pick up a copy of our "yellow" trip sheet with trip details (dates, descriptions, amounts and contact info). Our Travel Club members are very friendly and love having fun!
