Free Swim Lessons: The Swim & Wellness Club offers FREE swim lessons to club members. Are you a beginner who may be fearful of water? Maybe you just want a refresher in proper form or breathing techniques. An advanced swimmer might want to learn to do a flip turn. We have both male and female instructors who are experienced at all levels. They listen and proceed at whatever pace is right for you. Parkinson's Support: Our Support Group meets the first Thursday of every month at the Clubhouse at 3 pm in the Majorca Room. We are a growing group of those with Parkinson's and their Caretakers. By sharing your challenges and successes with others on the same journey, we help each other find strategies for coping with Parkinson's. We offer participation in a walking group, weekend ping pong, an outside dance group, outside exercise groups and our social activities of Happy Hours and get-togethers! Easy Yoga: Easy Yoga is offered by resident Jody McDonough via video. Come and join her class to rejuvenate your spirit, mind and body. Bring an exercise mat, small pillow and towel. Gentle Yoga: Gentle yoga is free class led by OHCC resident Anna Grinshpun. Anna is certified yoga instructor and has been teaching yoga since 2004. The class is held Tuesdays, 10 to 11:15 am and Thursdays, 3:30 to 4:45 pm. The class emphasizes full body stretching with deep breathing and some meditation. The results of practice will bring your body into alignment and to a peaceful state. Please bring a yoga mat and a large towel/light blanket for a start. Meeting Mondays, 9 am to 12 noon, this cooperative gathering is perfect for oil and acrylic painters looking to share ideas, exchange constructive feedback, and inspire each other. Whether you're a seasoned artist or just starting out, you'll find a supportive community ready to help you refine your craft. Bowling: Bowling is a great sport for seniors. Nice people bowl. New League for OHCC residents starts right away. Scores are adjusted, so you need not be a good bowler. Join the fun. Tai Chi Class: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9 to 10 am. Join us to improve balance, increase strength and reduce stress. This is a video led class and is FREE. OHCC Drum Circle: Saturdays, 11 am to 12 pm, you can join a Drum Circle in the Clubhouse. Meet with us for a rhythmic, meditative experience with percussion instruments. No experience is necessary. Our group is led by resident and professional musician/ drummer, Keith Thompson. You don't even need a drum but if you have one, bring it. There is no charge. Sunday Bunco: Our Bunco group plays on the first Sunday at the Clubhouse each month. Players meet in the Mykonos Room, 5:30 to 8:30 pm.
