The New Year 2025 started off with our annual January Do Dues Day. Abravanel Hall was packed, the Galleria had a variety of instructors promoting their classes, and the RV Club hosted a delectable hot dog experience for all. There were a lot of fresh faces in the crowd. We are welcoming two new clubs to the roster: the Let's Dance Club and the SALT Club. Just wondering- what residents have signed up for the greatest number of clubs, inquiring minds want to know? Several new classes have been formed to begin this year. Writing, golf, art, theater, and pickleball are the ones that come to mind. With this new year comes a new energy, so come by the Clubhouse to get more information on what is happening. New residents can access the information racks, OHCC Living, the OHCC website: oceanhillscountryclub.com, and the digital tools that are made available. The Front Desk is the so called "Mailbox" for the Clubhouse. Checks can be dropped off for Club memberships. The Lost and Found is located here and over the winter season jackets, hats, keys, glasses, remote gadgets, and single earrings have been turned in. Expensive water bottle containers are left in all areas of the Clubhouse. Unbelievably, we have a boxed antique wedding dress that was found within the community, falling from a truck. Please call to identify if missing this item. If you have lost it, come and find it at the Clubhouse. Tri-City Medical Center will join us this month for the Lunch and Learn Lecture on Thurs., Feb. 20. They will be featuring three guest speakers discussing skin concerns/treatments, diabetes prevention, and how to have a healthier life. Tickets are available for lunch at 11:30 am, please stop by to reserve lunch by Thurs., Feb. 11. The lecture will begin at noon. Tri-City plans to host four events this year, and we appreciate their partnership. The Recreation Department has organized an informal Super Bowl Watch Party, on the Lanai, for Super Bowl Sunday, Feb., 9 at 2 pm. The desire is to have the Community come together, enjoy the Lanai, and share in the camaraderie of cheering for a favorite team. All those in attendance are required to bring a dish to share and drinks of choice. Weather will be a factor to consider when dressing for the event. Tables and chairs will be provided but on a first come, first served basis. The idea is to mingle and to get acquainted. Happy Valentine's Day- we might just have some Sweet Treats at the Bar on Fri., Feb. 14 from 8 to 10 am. Come by our way, as you begin your day with Pickleball, Floor Exercise, and the Discussion Group. The significance of Valentine's Day can vary from person to person. Some view it as a celebration of love and friendship, while others see it as a way to boost the economy. Share the love this Valentine's Day and you might just boost the economy! See you for a sweet treat in the Clubhouse! 18 | OHCC LIVING | FEBRUARY 2025 | Recreation News By Christy Bessey
