| OHCC LIVING | FEBRUARY 2025 | 7 Show your important documents some love for Valentine's Day! • When was the last time you reviewed your documents? • Do you have them stored in one place or several places? • Does your family, attorney, and/or executor know where these documents are stored? In an AARP Bulletin, they recommend establishing Three-Categories: Tier 1 Essential Life Documents (these require top-level care) • Social Security Card • Passport • Will/Trust • Healthcare proxy and/or directive • Birth Certificate • Marriage Certificate • Car title (pink slip) • Home Deed • Divorce papers Tier 2 Important References (stored for ease of access) • 401(k) or IRA statements • Life Insurance policies • Tax returns (3-7 years) both Federal and State Tier 3 Quick Access (should be carried with you) • Driver's license or other State issued ID • Health Insurance The article recommends storing essential life documents in a fireproof safe or a bank safe-deposit box. It also spoke about backing up your documents electronically either by scanning them or taking a picture of them. One thing that I felt was missing in this article was a list of your medical conditions and medications. Personally, I would categorize this as Tier 3 – Quick Access documents. SERT suggests that everyone download SMART911.com to your computer and the APP to your cellular device. In an emergency responders will be able to access your medical records and by the time you or your loved one arrives they will be in a much better position to treat the patient. You never know when you will need your medical information. The SERT Club is an organization dedicated to promoting safety within OHCC. If you are a member thank you for your support. If you are not a member, I urge you to join. For more information, visit the SERT Club website at www.ohccsert.com Please stay safe and Happy Valentine's Day! Important Documents By Tom Porter, President I hope the new year is treating you well so far. Where has the time gone? It seems the year of 2024 came and went just like that. I hope the goals you set for yourself are accomplished. Just a couple of reminders for the residents of the rules and regulations. I know some residents have their garage doors open, just remember that if it is unattended the garage is 18 inches from the f loor. This is for security reasons. For parking your vehicle overnight, please make sure you get a pass and as always, if you believe you need a permanent overnight pass, please go to the HOA office to fill out a form. Any guest that is staying overnight needs an overnight pass. Any questions regarding rules and regulations, please do not hesitate to contact the front gate. Any of the other officers or I will gladly answer them, we seek compliance and adherence to the rules established at Ocean Hills Country Club. That should be it for now. As always, thank you OHCC residents, for your vital role in our community. We greatly appreciate your cooperation in adhering to the rules. We are committed to serving you and the community; your feedback is invaluable. If you have any concerns or suggestions that you would like to see addressed in a future issue of OHCC Living Magazine, we encourage you to share them. Please feel free to contact me via email or phone. My office at the front gate is always open for Ocean Hills Country Club residents. ~ Tony Duong, Account Manager, Securitas Security Services, (760) 766-1458, cell (760) 505-2146, Tony.Duong@securitasinc.com Community Patrol Services
