The last few months brought many unfortunate passings of loved ones here in Solera and our hearts go out to all those grieving losses of loved ones and friends. In addition, many of us have been sick or in the hospital. The Sunshine Club is a small group and we rely heavily on others in the community to let us know what is happening. Please reach out to us! Please fill out an information card found on the table in the mail room! If you are interested in bringing sunshine into our community, we would love to have you join our service organization. Our next meeting will be on Feb. 19 from 1 to 2 pm in the Arts & Crafts Room and we hope to see you there. Chronic illnesses, hospitalization, and/or death can hit people hard. If you have a friend or neighbor here in Solera who needs a spark of sunshine, let members of the Sunshine Club know. For your convenience, the yellow Sunshine Box is located on the table in the Mail Room where you can drop off the information for a resident or residents who are sick or have experienced a death in the family. Sometimes just a card or telephone call will brighten someone's day immensely. HIGH NOTES FROM KARAOKE It's kind of amazing how some recording artists stand the test of time while others seem to fade from our memory. That's the beauty of what some people come up with when they sing at our Goodtimes Karaoke shows featuring Barb Miller, Rosie Ingalls and myself D.J.Blast. At times, some folks have come up with long forgotten tunes which at times opens up the door for us to rediscover some fine music gems. This month we celebrate 20 music artists born in February. 1. However, we are open to new members year round and would love to see others join us at our next meeting on Fri. Feb. 7 from 1 to 3 pm in the Clubhouse. February's meeting will be a "Souper Bowl" with a Valentines theme. We plan to have seven of our most talented members prepare a variety of delicious soups for our tasting. The members will vote on the "best" soup and prizes will be rewarded for finest, second and third place. All of the soups are sure to be delicious if past tastings are any indication. Solera Bon Appetit dues are $30 for the month and we meet on the first Friday of each month in the Clubhouse.
