| THE COLONY NEWS | FEBRUARY 2025 | 25 Colony Chorus By Ken Luekens e Colony Chorus' concert, "Celtic Christmas," is in the books, as they say - or in this case, it's in the bag, if you're talking about bagpipes. Wherever it is, we very much enjoyed presenting the concert both times and receiving many compliments. ank you to all who attended. e Chorus appreciates your support, and especially that of our Patrons. Last season brought an unusual problem, in that our talented and longtime director, Lorilee Bajema, started a new teaching job, which required changing our practice time from ursday mornings to Wednesday aer-school hours. It would have been impossible to make the necessary rescheduling we needed without the generous cooperation and changes of the Actors Studio, Ping Pong and the Men's Golf Club. e Golf Club even moved the time of their annual Christmas dinner! A big thank you to all of you who helped us, including our ever-helpful Activities Director, Kara Hardy. Next up is our spring concert, and you can mark your calendars now for its two performances, which will be the weekend of April 26-27. Practice sessions for it have begun and are Wednesdays from 4 to 6 pm in the Annex. If you would like to join us, there's still time and we would welcome you. No audition is necessary. Just call Connie O'Brien , 619-322-0144, so she can have a folder of the music ready for you when you come. We hope that everyone had memorable holiday celebrations. Now is a wonderful time to begin a new interest or activity, and learning a new easy instrument might just be the thing you need to get you going. e Colony Strummers meet every Friday in the Annex at 1 pm.
