| THE COLONY NEWS | FEBRUARY 2025 | 5 ACCESS CONTROL & SAFETY Security Statistics: For December 2024, there were a total of 22,769 gate entries recorded consisting of guests, recreational vehicles, vendors, and golfers. Allied Security performed 7 property/residence checks and issued 56 citations for stop sign violations and 6 speeding citations. ere were 30 medical, re, and police incidents. Allied cited 52 residents for various resident parking violations and guest/vendor violations. 42 residents were cited for putting trash cans out too early and/ or not putting them away. 20 garage doors were found to be open and Allied made calls to each resident to advise them to close their garage doors. Allied responded to 73 miscellaneous incidents related to deceased residents, dogs (barking, lost, o leash), gate strikes/tailgaters, reckless driving, trespassers, welfare checks and broken/burst water lines. In December, Allied security issued 52 parking violations. Our monthly citations for parking tend to be 50-60 each month. e rst oense is only a courtesy notice and a reminder of the parking rules. However, please keep in mind that repeat oenses are subject to nes as outlined in the Fine Schedule. To ensure a harmonious community and compliance with e Colony's parking guidelines, here are the most commonly cited parking violations. Please take a moment to review these important rules. 1. Guest Parking According to the Rules and Regulations, Article 4, Section 4.1.2, "Visitors shall be issued a dated temporary pass, which shall be displayed on the dashboard of their vehicle." Make sure your guests obtain and display their pass to avoid citations. 2. RV Guest Parking As stated in the Rules and Regulations, Article 4, Section 4.2.2, "Recreational vehicles are prohibited from remaining in e Colony between the hours of 12:00 a.m. (midnight) and 7:00 am. e host resident shall be ned if a violation occurs." Please remind guests with RVs to adhere to these time restrictions to avoid daily nes starting at $100 per day. 3. Resident Parking – Overnight Parking Per Rules and Regulations, Article 4, Section 4.3.2, "Residents shall park all vehicles in their garage or driveway, provided the vehicle does not extend beyond the curb line and does not block a sidewalk right-of-way." Street parking is permitted only between 7:00 a.m. and midnight unless an overnight pass is obtained from the Property Services Department 4. Improper Parking – Parking on the grass As outlined in Rules and Regulations, Article 8, vehicles parked on grass maintained by the Association are strictly prohibited.
