Historically noted for expressions of love; traditionally celebrated by couples, speared with Cupid's arrow; and economically boosts the annual sales of candy and owers. But what about the greatest of all celebrations? Oen taken for granted, and mistakenly overlooked is the simple gesture of sincere appreciation for another. at heartfelt expression of gratitude for a job well done. Illustrated here, through these photos, is exactly that expression of appreciation and gratitude this thankful group of Quilters feels for Sonia, our Bistro Angel. Every ursday Seasons Quilters breaks away from their sewing machines and cutting mats for a relaxing lunch in the Bistro. Over the past couple of years, Sonia has been our faithful server, knowing our drink choices and menu selections sometimes before we do! No matter how busy she is with other tables, her infectious smile and boundless energy greets us with patience and sincere hospitality. As a Club, wanting to "ank Sonia" for all that she does for us, we progressively began our project by each creating two blocks in kitchen themes, and signed them. Once this quilt top was complete, the sandwich of three layers: top, batting, and backing came together on our resident quilter's Long Arm. Creating elegant swirls with thread, binding the edges, and designing a personal label, our appreciation gi was ready for presentation to its much deserved recipient on Jan. 2.
