Did you know that elections are coming up in April and everyone's vote is important to make sure we reach a majority vote for this election? On this ballot is a by-law change that, if passed, will go into effect in 2026. This change will ensure that all votes in every district are counted, even if a district doesn't have a delegate or doesn't make quorum. If there is no delegate or alternate delegate, the Chair of the Delegate Assembly will cast the votes for that district, in the same proportion as the resident votes were cast. If a district does not reach a quorum, that district's votes must be cast by its delegate in the same percentage as the resident votes came in. No longer may a delegate choose how to cast his/her votes when the district doesn't reach quorum. With this new by-law, if passed, all district votes must be cast based on the percentage cast by its residents. | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | FEBRUARY 2025 | 11 sure we reach a majority vote for this election? ensure that all votes in every district are counted, even if a district doesn't have a delegate or By Beverly Simmons, Master Board 2nd Vice-President DID YOU KNOW???
