For January, Sheila and Larry James of Jamestown performed for us. They were as incredible as always. We love this married duo and they give us their all. Not a person left until Jamestown stopped performing. Their wide variety of songs ranged from country, Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, Frank Sinatra, Mamas & Papas, Nat King Cole, and more and included I Can See Clearly Now, Dream a Little Dream of Me, Summer Wind, Living on Tulsa Time, Orange Colored Sky, You Look Wonderful Tonight and so many more. People raved about this very popular couple and we hope they'll be back very soon! Thank you Larry and Sheila — we love you! The 80s Club is for Sun Lakes residents near or over 80 years of age along with their guests, no matter their ages. Our events are always on the first Saturday of the month and begin at 3 pm, and include a brief meeting with announcements, then entertainment and the meals begin between 3:30 and 4 pm. Each month is close to the capacity at the South Clubhouse so it makes for a festive and interactive group. Come once for the meal price of $20 to see if you might enjoy our group and join our club to continue attending. Our dues are $10 a year per person. Our meals are $20 per person. The deadline for reservations is Feb. 23 for the March 1 event; get your checks (make your checks out to 80s Plus Club) to Donna Harrington at 5393 Riviera by then. There is a box on her front porch labeled 80s Club for your checks and it will be removed when we have sold out OR at the deadline. Do not leave a check if there is no box out. We have so many requests for additional bookings after our deadline and in the past we have tried to accommodate those if possible. However, those requests have grown and can no longer be added after the deadline. If you are mailing in your check, we must have it in by the deadline date and make sure your phone number is on the check. Also, please give us the name of any guests you are paying for and bringing. We're always at the South Clubhouse. People begin arriving at 2:30 to get checked in and get their seats, and the program starts at 3 pm. You will not be allowed entrance before 2:30 pm as our volunteers set up the tables and decorate the room. Don't forget your money for the 50/50 which has been a huge success.
