8 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | FEBRUARY 2025 | Beyond verification of elections, the primary purpose for the District Delegate Assembly (DDA) is to advise the Master Board on matters of community concern. We collectively agree something should be acted upon by voting to pass a motion to refer that issue to the Board. While we may want action, we can only advise as we have no power to enact any measures. But sometimes you won't get what you don't ask for. The Board is always constrained by limits of the budget so often it's the squeaky wheel that gets the grease, and we are the biggest squeaky wheel in the community. Our recommendations carry weight. This system works to help the Master Board makes its best decisions, but lacking a continual input of relevant information the system is useless. The individual concerns of every resident are important to your District Delegate. When we meet to discuss community issues wide spread concerns become a call to action. But one cannot fix what is not known to need repair. Talk with your Delegate about what you think needs improvement. It's the first step toward change in the machinery that drives Sun Lakes. At the January Delegate Assembly meeting I announced the creation of ad hoc committee to study the SunLakesCC.com website in order to present a list of potential improvements to the Master Board for review. The website has long been frustrating for anyone trying to use it. There's not been a concerted effort by the Board to revamp the site in order to make it more user friendly. The DDA committee will define the changes needed, then present their work to the full Assembly. If approved, the suggestions are forwarded to the Board for their consideration. Currently, this is not a Board issue. If you look at the HOA's budget you won't find any funding for improving technology, yet the world expects technology to operate efficiently. If you've had problems on the SunLakesCC.com website, share your experiences with your Delegate. There must be a catalyst to bring change and I'm hoping the DDA will be that spark. ~ Cal Martin From the Delegate Assembly EPAP ANIMAL RESCUE GROUP We meet at 10 am in the Multipurpose Room on the third Monday of the following five months each year: September, November, January, March, and May.
