This year is already off to a fast start — Valentine's Day has already come and gone and we are now into St. Patrick's Day. Phew! As I previously informed everyone in the last article, Young at Heart will be having our events every other month this year. There seems to be so much going on, so we will give everyone a break this year. Hopefully, this will work out best for everyone. Well, our NFL chili cook off was a huge success. We had 11 chilis entered in the contest, with 87 people in attendance. There were plenty of appetizers and goodies for everyone. The winners were: first place, Steve Schwartz; second place, Jim Close; third place, Charlie London; fourth place, Cheryl Steffen-Sampson. Congratulations to all the winners and thank you to all the participants. All the entries for chili were delicious! I always make sure I have f lyers out to everyone at least a month in advance for our events so that you have time to participate and make plans. As dinner concludes, we will be entertained by the dynamic male and female duo, Kim n' Michelle. They perform duets and hits from a wide range of genres, from jazz standards, the Great American Songbook to R&B, Disco, Rock 'n Roll and today's top hits. Everyone is sure to enjoy their live harmony vocals! This delightful evening is $24 for members and $27 for guests.
