36 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | MARCH 2025 | ICC Dinner Dance Club Makua Hula Hawaiian Dancers The ICC Dinner/Dance will be held on Thurs., March 20 in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom. Doors open at 5:45 pm and the event ends at 9 pm. During the evening we celebrate the March birthdays as well as a 50/50 drawing. We will also celebrate St. Patrick's Day: the wearing of green, green beer, shamrocks, four-leaf clovers, leprechaun hats, and pinching friends who don't wear green all part of the celebration. If you find a four-leaf clover, it's a symbol of good luck. Living here at Sun Lakes Country Club we can enjoy our beautiful Clubhouse by having dinner and dancing without traveling far from home. We just go to the Clubhouse, enjoy the event and travel a few blocks to home. What could be nicer? The buffet dinner by Chef Joshua Steeves will be corned beef and cabbage with all the fixings or beef tri-tip with red potatoes and seasonal vegetables. The vegetarian dish will be pasta primavera. The entertainment for the night will be provided by Lisa and Lori. They play a mixture of music; dinner music during our meal, romantic slow songs, fast songs, and line dancing. Sign-ups for the dinner and dance are held on the first Thursday of every month at the South Clubhouse beginning at 4 pm. The cost of dinner for members is $35 and $37 for guests. Come join the fun and meet new friends. Membership for 2025 is $25 per person per calendar year. A "try before you buy" opportunity is available for Sun Lakes residents who have not been members in the past. If you are unable to attend the event after signing up, you can request a take-out meal box. January birthdays were celebrated by Kate Johnson, Bruce Brown, Karlene Bowman, Margi Albrecht, Marv Steggell, Judy Dexter, Mary Ann Ivey, Judy Taylor, Rick Taylor, and Dave Crail (pictured below). There were no January anniversaries. What a pleasure to be a part of the celebrations and performance opportunities within our Sun Lakes community. Anyone interested in learning more about Hawaiian Hula dancing are welcome to join the Makua Hula Dancers every Wednesday at the North Clubhouse from 10 am to 12 noon. No previous dance experience is necessary. Makua Hula Hawaiian Dancers continue to perform at private events.
