Colony Chorus By Ken Luekens
Welcome to our new Colony Chorus members. It's great that
you've joined our "family." For those who have not joined us
(yet?), here's the latest news.
We have started practicing for the upcoming spring concerts.
It's going to be all about the weather. It's the Weather Report –
rainy, stormy, sunny, clear, and maybe some snow. Who knows?
It might even be "Raining Men." We have adjusted our practice
dates, time and location. We now meet in the Annex, every
Wednesday from 4 to 6 pm.
Even though practice has started, there is still time to join the
Chorus. Besides being a helpful and supportive way to sing, it is
a friendly group. As our director, Lorilee, likes to describe it, it
is like our second family. If you want to join us, please contact
Connie O'Brien at 619-322-0144, or just show up on Wednesday.
No auditions are necessary. We hope to see you there.
e concerts, as usual, will be on the last weekend of April.
Specically, that means Saturday evening, April 26, and Sunday
aernoon, April 27. Mark your calendars now. If you are not
singing with us, we hope to see you at one of our concerts. Keep
singing!
In January we had a Meet & Greet, and we were really happy to have
seven guests who were interested in learning to play the ukulele. Some had
their own instruments, and we had loaners for the others. We all enjoyed
strumming, singing, and eating yummy snacks.
Our weekly sessions are open to anyone who would like to learn to play, or
who would just like to join us in singing along to a wide variety of music. e
Colony Strummers meet every Friday in the Annex at 1 pm. If you would
like more information, please call Judy Moore at 949-468-7375.
