Understanding Article 4, Section 4.1.4: Resident Gate Entry Procedures Ensuring a safe and smooth entrance into our community is a priority, and following our gate procedures helps prevent unnecessary damage and accidents. Article 4, Section 4.1.4 in the Rules & Regulations outlines the correct way to use the resident gate system. is procedure applies at all three gates — Jackson (Main Gate), California Oaks, and Nutmeg. Below is a guide to follow to ensure correct entry. Waiting for Your Turn at the Gate If a vehicle is already entering or has just passed through the resident gate, you must wait at the rst stop sign until the barrier arm fully closes behind that vehicle before you move forward. Moving forward too soon not only risks damage to the gate and/or your vehicle but could also result in a citation. MOVING FORWARD WITHOUT FOLLOWING THIS PROCEDURE IS A DANGEROUS AND IMPROPER USE OF THE GATE ENTRANCE. THE BARRIER ARM MUST BE ALLOWED TO CLOSE IMMEDIATELY AFTER EACH VEHICLE ENTERS AS THE SIGN ABOVE STATES. Why is Matters Following this procedure helps ensure everyone's safety, prevents unnecessary accidents, and avoids damage to both the gate and your vehicle. When residents move past the rst stop sign, before the barrier arm has fully closed behind a vehicle in front of them, it can cause the gate system to malfunction, which may require our maintenance crew and/or vendor to x the repair. is can lead to costly repairs that would be assessed to you. By following these steps at any of the community gates, we are all contributing to a safe and smooth operating entry system and helping to reduce extra maintenance and repair costs.
