Our 2025 tournament launch was played with a slight chill at tee time and ending with very mild temperatures. e scheduled opener consisted of 52 players, which matched our August 2023 event high. e tournament consisted of several new players joining the Jack and Jill family. Our "Regular Scramble" competition was a single ight. We also launched a fourth "Closest to the Pin" hole to our competition with the inclusion of Hole #3 for a team CTP addition. Going forward, this tournament will include two individual CPT holes and two CPT team holes, two on the front nine and two on the back nine. e following posted winning positions for our rst '25 contest: Winning Teams 1st, 50.390, Rich and Bea Brown, Mike and Leigh Tsumura 2nd, 52.239, Terry Lundquist, Sue Jordan, Dennis Murphy and Pat Byron 3rd, 53.754, Ron Brown, Debbie Johnson, Bruce Smith and Eileen Hinrichs 4th, 53.845, Malcolm Grant, Sherry Roberts, Leo Pasco and Peggy Clendenen Closest to the Pin #3, Team #16 Joe Cwirka, Marge Anderson, Ken Kawamura and Bonnie Hinman – 11'4 #5, Women, Susan Connelly – 36'0" / Men, David Bailey – 23'0" #15, Women, Paula ompson – 6'2" / Men, Jim Barnes – 3'5" #16, Team #15 Terry Lundquist, Sue Jordan, Dennis Murphy and Pat Byron – 4'5" e Darwin Award goes to Larry Determan, who transmitted an email with his name stating "there are no forms at the Pro Shop." Your humble MC/CEO rushed to re-supply the Pro Shop but the evidence showed a false alarm as there were plenty of forms available. Our next contest is set for ursday, March 13, and it will be a "Random Draw" event. As with all Jack and Jill events you DO NOT have to be a member of either the Men's or Women's Golf Clubs to play. Just pick up your sticks and join us for the fun and friendly competition on the links. Our ladies club is out there every Tuesday morning, playing either 9 or 18 holes, with dierent tournaments each week. e mornings have been cold, but we've lucked out with nice sunny days. Our February meeting was followed by a delicious lunch provided by Old Market Grill. We celebrated two of our members' birthdays, which was very special. We are planning to have a charity event in May, though we are not sure if it will be a golf event. We always have some event to support our local charities. We are getting new members and always enjoy our social time at our monthly lunch meetings. We hope you will think about joining us on the links soon! e February Colony Couples 2Ball was a great fun golf day on the links. is nine-hole event posted one of its highest numbers of active players in the two and a half years of competition. e weather was threatening, and we all crossed our ngers that the event would beat the incoming rain, and it did. Cool temperatures prevailed, and the skies, while threatening, remained dry. Rain did nally arrive, but it was very late aer the conclusion of the tournament, in the evening and following morning.
