| THE COLONY NEWS | MARCH 2025 | 33 Men's Golf By Greg Gries First Monday Golf By Greg Gries We now have two golng opportunities on the rst Monday of the month, the Good Old Boys away game at Menifee Lakes and the Dooley Co-ed Scramble at California Oaks. e GOB game at Menifee Lakes is a fun Men's scramble, usually consisting of 16 players. Contact Joe Cwirka (joecwirkagolf@gmail.com) for more details about the game. e Dooley Co-ed Scramble is played at California Oaks and is a exible game where we play from the white, red, and yellow tees, depending on handicaps. We play with relaxed rules, such as no penalties and the freedom to move your ball to a grassy place in the fairway. Gina from Gina's Kitchen provides meals aer the game. If you want more information, contact Greg Gries at 951-383-9988 or gggries@gmail.com. We've been playing through January and February with cold mornings and layers coming o by the time we nish. We've played scrambles, shambles, and individual games, as well as some special events. It's been a pleasure to have quite a few new golfers and members, from people moving in or returning to golf. We're a fun-loving group that is not strict and allows local rule exibilities. We are excited about getting closer to a golf course upgrade, and we want to thank all who support the golf course green area. (Well, maybe it will be greener this fall!) e Men's Club is looking for Colony resident golfers of all abilities to join us.
