March has arrived. Some important dates
for March: March 6, our PAWS meeting will
be at 11 am in the Game Room. We have a
dog trainer from A Breed Apart. On March 9
Daylight Savings begins (YEAH). March 17 is
St. Patty's Day. March 20 is the rst day of spring and March 23
is National Puppy Day.
I have a large dog, Rex, who a lot of you know. He is 85 pounds
of love and energy. He thinks all people, dogs and golf carts
should love him. I walk him most mornings and he has met a
few friends on the walk, mostly larger dogs. I think dog etiquette
is something we should all practice whether you have a large,
medium or small dog. Some dogs, especially the smaller ones,
are very calm and some are very excitable. When I see a dog,
especially a small one coming in our direction, I try and cross
the street. Not because he is mean, but he doesn't realize his size
and I don't want any little one getting hurt because Rex wants to
play. If someone asks if they can come near Rex with a larger
dog, I will agree so they can learn each other and get a little bit of
socialization. Never assume the other dog is going to be friendly.
One more thing about walking your dog, I have noticed a lot
of poop bags along Four Seasons. ank you for picking up aer
your dog, but please take it home with you. "Dogs come when
they're called; cats take a message and get back to you later!"
