| SUN CITY CORE COURIER | MARCH 2025 | 9 Welcome Home Vietnam vets Join us Fri., March 28 from 11 am to 12 noon at Paloma Valley High School (31375 Bradley Road) to honor the brave men and women who served in the Vietnam War and those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. The City of Menifee's annual Welcome Home Ceremony is an opportunity to express our deepest gratitude for their courage, service, and sacrifice, giving them the recognition they so rightfully deserve. Spring Shred Fest Sat. March 15, 8 - 11 am (or until truck is full); Menifee City Hall (29844 Haun Road). This free drive- through event allows residents a safe and secure way to dispose of unwanted paper documents containing personal information, such as bank and credit card statements, canceled or voided checks, pay stubs, and utility bills. The Menifee Shred Fest is for residents only and proof of residency is required. Each household may bring up to three banker boxes for shredding. Binders, clips, and other items in the box must be removed and will not be accepted Foodie Fridays This event features over 50 food vendors, curated crafts, and entertainment. It runs the first Friday of every month through November at Mt. San Jacinto College's Menifee Campus (28237 La Piedra Road), from 5 to 9 pm (summer hours for July – September begin at 6 pm). Foodie Fridays is presented by Made Local in "flavorship" with the City of Menifee and Mt. San Jacinto College. This month's event is Fri., March 7. Wildlife appreciation day Join the Menifee Park Rangers at Banner Village Park (29469 Falcon Hill Drive) on Sat., March 8, from 10 am to 1 pm, to celebrate Wildlife Appreciation Day. This free event will feature a traveling tide pool, providing attendees with the opportunity to interact directly with marine wildlife. Attendees will also be able to meet other exotic animal ambassadors from local ecosystems and around the world. Local and state agencies will also be on hand to help inspire the stewards of tomorrow! Life Savers program Menifee Life Savers is a collection of free classes, such as CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), Automated External Defibrillator (AED) use, Basic First Aid, and Bleeding Control.
