| SUN CITY CORE COURIER | MARCH 2025 | 15 What Kind of Love is Contained in Our Trophies and Medals? Looking back at 2024, our Sun City Slammer Chair Volleyball Club has achieved gratifying results. e trophies and medals contain our endless seriousness, fun, and laughter. At the beginning of the new year, we continue to enjoy the happiness that volleyball brings us and our persistent love for volleyball. When Nancy served the ball, her body language told us that she was a dancer sitting on a chair. Even looking at the picture, you can enjoy the experience as if you were there. Look at Nadine and Doris, who have raised their hands and are condent in the game. Look at all the players on the court and the teammates sitting in the rotation position. Every pair of eyes is watching the volleyball in the air. However, when the ball landed, whether it was the scorer, the opponent's players or the waiting players, they all laughed from the bottom of their hearts at the same moment. What kind of charming sport is this?! ~ Annie Kong Sun City Slammers Chair Volleyball Bunco Fun Bunch Join us Wed., March 26. Our group gets together to play Bunco every fourth Wednesday from 1 to 4 pm in Civic Hall (26601 Cherry Hills Boulevard). We do not play for money but instead play for gift cards. We ask each player to bring a $10 gift card (with receipt taped to it) for our "prize pot" and a snack to share with others. Some of our winners may take home over $90 in various gift cards while other players may win $70, $50, or $20 in gift cards, depending on the bunco category won. We play three to four games during an afternoon. If you are a newbie, don't hesitate to come. Bunco is fast-paced, but very easy- to-learn. If you can roll dice and move from chair to chair, then you can play. We play in a large room on long tables (four players to a table), so there is lots of room for our "snacks and cups" and nothing interferes with our dice roll. We usually have at least 28 players (seven tables), lots of snacks, and many winners. All SCCA residents and their invited guests may come. We ask that all players reserve their Bunco seat by calling us with your name, phone numbers, and email. Player Requirements: 1. SCCA residents sign-in at the door AND show current SCCA White Activities ID Card (it has your photo on it). Resident may bring guests, but guests must sign-in at the same time resident does; 2. Everyone brings a $10 gift card with its receipt attached (tape it to card.) and places it in the "Prize Pot." (Gift cards may be for restaurants, fast food, retail stores, etc.); and 3. Everyone brings their own drink and a nnack to share with others (no alcohol). Please take snack leftovers home with you. RSVP by calling Mary Jane (760-310-5956) or Nancy (714-895- 5001). Be sure to give your name, phone number, and your guests' names and phone numbers. Also, please call back if you need to cancel so we can fill your spot from our Wait List. Doors open 12:40 pm for sign-ins and collection of gift cards. After signing-in, you can set-up your snack on the counter and find a table and chair. Players must be signed in and ready to play before 1 pm (doors close and no additional sign-ins after 1 pm). Game Rules are reviewed at 1 pm and games begin at 1:05 pm. Come with a friend and make more friends while you have a time of laughter and unpredictable game play with the Bunco Fun Bunch. Travel Club New Board members were introduced for 2025.
