| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | APRIL 2025 | 3 This year continues to be full of excitement and change. The Board works together, with you in mind, to maintain our beautiful community while trying to find opportunities to improve our financial position. As we move into better weather, we are all excited to be back outside and enjoy our community with friends and neighbors. In March, the District Delegate Assembly kicked off the election process and did an outstanding job organizing and executing this year's Candidate Forum. A varied list of questions was presented to all candidates and was very well attended. Thanks to everyone who assisted with this excellent forum. Understanding candidates' experience and initiatives is important. Who you vote for determines the Board's future effectiveness in managing your community. Your vote is critical. The Board is in the process of negotiating a new bulk cable agreement for the next five years following expiration in August. Presentations were provided by both Spectrum and Frontier, and we had an opportunity to understand some of the upcoming changes to internet and television services. We are anticipating the completion of a wonderful new contract. During the January open Board meeting, the Board provided residents with an overview of the process that had been used to analyze two proposals for management of our Food and Beverage Operations. An introduction to Compass Hospitality was given with an outline of who the company is, its customer base, marketing and customer service capabilities, and their plans to provide a best-in-class POS system. It was announced that the Board had negotiated a contract and had agreed to a contract with Compass Hospitality following an agreement of contract language. During the February Open Board meeting, a more detailed "Road to a Contract" was presented with a more detailed review of the due diligence process used prior to signing of the contract with Compass Hospitality. Communication and governance were discussed and outlined reasons why a town hall had not previously been held. It included timing of key milestones, review of comments and recommendations from the Procurement Advisory with details as to how nine comments and five recommendations were satisfied through due diligence and negotiation. It was also noted that the Finance Advisory Committee reviewed the Compass proposal as well as the Board's due diligence and provided their recommendation to proceed with the selection of Compass Hospitality. A Town Hall meeting with Compass Hospitality was held on March 10 which gave all residents an opportunity to meet our new Food and Beverage management company and hear their plans for the future. Residents had an opportunity to ask questions from Compass corporate and local management staff. As you can see, 2025 will be a very busy year for the Board and our advisory committees. We look forward to completing several initiatives designed to strengthen our financial position for the future. Bob Walter, Beverly Simmons, Gary Burkel, Don Day From the Master Board
