| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | APRIL 2025 | 51 When walking or driving about Sun Lakes paying attention, there is a remarkable variety of wildlife one could see. That's what March's speaker, Woody Catalano does. He pays attention and takes photos. His presentation of the wonderful creatures with which we share our habitat was a delight and we hope he comes back soon. PLEASE NOTE: OUR MEETING THIS MONTH IS APRIL16, the third, not the second, Wednesday. The Program Director of the Banning Senior Center will be here. Ana Sandoval was here in February to accept the Garden Club's $500 donation to the Senior Center's Children's Christmas Shopping Spree event. This month she'll explain the many activities and programs the Center offers to Banning's seniors which of course includes Sun Lakes' seniors as well. If you are not a Garden Club member but would like to know more about the Banning Senior Center or just want to know about our club, please come as our guest. There is nothing sweeter in so many ways as a See's Candies treat. This is the month! It's time for our spring See's Candies sales. Sale dates are as follows: Friday and Saturday, April 4 and 5, 11 am to 5 pm; Wednesday through Saturday, April 9 – 12, 11 am to 5 pm; and Wednesday through Saturday, April 16 – 19, 11 am to 5 pm. For those of you who are late blooming gardeners: If you're thinking of planting tomatoes or squash, starting an herb or succulent garden, look for our first bi-annual plant sales at the Sun Lakes May yard sales. We currently have volunteers tenderly fostering the care and growth of several varieties of those veggies mentioned as well as others. As of this writing, we do not have specific information, but the district yard sale dates and the specific locations for our plants will be available at this month meeting. There will also be f liers available in all three clubhouses. Guests are always welcome to attend one of our meetings. Except for this month, the Garden Club meets on the second Wednesday of every month at 10 am in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom. Our President, Beverly Agner, at (951) 306-7379 is always ready to answer your questions, but if you have membership questions, call one of our membership Co-Chairs, Sherry Case, at (951) 533-3584 or Linda Powers at (951) 769-3101. Pat Pennington at (951) 314-9229 is always willing to answer questions about your vegetable garden. Garden Club
