Social Committee
Andrea Griffin (at left) will be stepping
down as treasurer after five years of service to
the Social Committee. "Above and Beyond"
is what it says on her plaque thanking her for
five excellent years! Our new treasurer will
be Thelma Towner … more on her to follow
next month. Thank you, Andrea, for making
my job as Chair that much easier; you will
be missed.
If you missed the "Hearts and Smiles" event, wow, you missed
an excellent show! All three comedians (at right) were fabulous.
I have seen Jammin Jay Lamont before, so I knew what to expect
and he was brilliant as usual. The surprise was Brian Kiley —
he had a dry sense of humor with perfect
timing. Not only was Roberto Rodriquez
the announcer, he was a comedian as well.
Ladies, are you ready for the Ladies
Fashion Show on June 7? The theme is
"Summertime Garden." Models will
be wearing clothes from Jaci Johnson,
Independent "cabi" Personal Stylist and
from Shannon Burns, owner of Lush Layne
in Banning. So, save the date!
Ticket sales begin Tuesday, May 6 from 9 to 11 am in The Lodge
Ballroom. It will be assigned seating and residents will be able to
reserve only one table. The price is $40 per person for a day of fun,
food, and mimosas as you enter into the Ballroom.
Here are some more dates to save:
Luau on July 28 in the Ballroom with a buffet, table seating, and
then a Polynesian show on the Loggia with stadium seating.
Magicians on Sept. 20 in the Ballroom featuring Anthony
Hernandez.
Special Announcement: New Year's Eve will be a "New York"
New Year's Eve. Doors will open at 5 pm and we'll celebrate the
New Year at 9 pm; the band will stop performing at 10 pm. ~ Lisa
