TOPS
At TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly), we always begin our meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance to the
United States. After that, we have a pledge to ourselves. This pledge is designed to clarify why we are
there. We just got a new pledge which we like more than the old one.
"I am a responsible person. I know what it takes to reach my weekly goals. I know when to say 'yes.'
I know when to say 'no' to temptations that are placed before me. I remind myself that no food can
control me, and that I have the power to overcome obstacles and to live a healthier life. I'VE GOT THIS!"
Then we all cheer and the meeting begins.

We have a slight hiccup in our Tiles project as the sculptor
who is to inscribe the tiles has a medical issue with his arm
and will not be able to complete this task. We are currently
looking for a replacement sculptor. This will likely delay
the dedication, but late purchases can still be made.
Stars and Stripes f lags f lown in the HOA that need to be
retired can be delivered to either The Lodge or my home
(151 Tijeras Creek). I take them to the American Legion
in Redlands for a formal burning ceremony. This month
I have 14 f lags to be delivered for their ceremony. ~ Len
