A lot of singing and competition with the group — all in fun. As usual, you need to get your free tickets, available for pickup April 21 at The Lodge front desk. We sell out fast! Hope you enjoy these Disney cast members memories: Dottie Constance recalls her experience, "I auditioned as a dancer in front of Walt Disney himself, to be cast in the Golden Horseshoe Saloon for the opening of the Disneyland Park in 1955. And I WAS hired but was not contacted until almost a month later. Simultaneously I had already accepted a position as a dancer in Las Vegas at the Riviera Resort. It would have been fun but Las Vegas was the best!" Marianne Bugni remembers her wonderful experience singing with a group of hundreds at Disneyland in Anaheim at Christmas. "We marched down Main Street while singing. When we came to a wooden frame with risers, we stepped up on it to form a Christmas tree design of singers. After all of us were in place on the risers, we joined in singing various carols to the park attendees for their candlelight service." What a joy! Steve Fox, three months new to Four Seasons, retired from Disneyland after 48 years of service. As a cast member (that is what all employees are called, and their uniform was their costume), he started his career in charge of various attractions. (Trivia: only one ride on site, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, everything else are attractions.) After eight years, he turned to the gardening of the park's f lowers and landscaping, starting at 2 am until the park opened. He shared, "It takes a lot of people to make the magic at Disneyland, many working at night, every night, to make those f lowers bloom!" Walt Disney's motto was "Strive for Perfection!" which Steve and his fellow cast members did. You should never see a weed or unkempt f lower planter anywhere. And those holiday decorations! Thank his fellow members for those. Pat Wayne's daughter played Cruella deVille in the park while she was a theater major at Cal State Fullerton. Pat's family was told to tell NO one so that the Disney "magic" would stay intact. PAC offers free entertainment to our community with various shows and events throughout the year.
